Director of Architecture
As a long-time collaborator with M3, Ben is excited to direct Architecture at Messenger Corporation. Having spent the last many years in Boston and NYC, Ben is excited to return home to the Pacific Northwest. Ben’s skillset is very broad and spans between architecture, fabrication, industrial design and graphic design. Prior to M3, Ben founded and ran a successful design practice based in Brooklyn, NY working on projects at a variety of scales.
Ben is a native to the Pacific Northwest. Before returning, he had worked at a variety of firms in a variety of disciplines from a traditional carpentry apprentice in Japan to working for Renzo Piano in Paris on large-scale projects. Ben graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and then continued his studies at Harvard University where he received a Master of Architecture with Distinction and was a recipient of the James Templeton Kelly Thesis Prize, the RPBW fellowship, and the Clifford Wong Prize in Housing. Ben also enjoys teaching and has taught at Harvard University and most recently is on Faculty at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Preservation, and Planning. He has also been an invited guest critic at Harvard, MIT, Penn, Pratt, CCNY and University of Washington.
